"Feste Kaiser Wilhelm II" is a modular fortification designed and erected en of 19th century in forecast of the next war between France and Germany.
It was used as a deterrent to the french forces. During the WWI, it helped the Germans to locate the battle field in France instead of in Germany.
The fortification is located 50 km from Strasbourg (France).
It is maintained by a dynamic association of volunteers as a museum
